凯尚画廊很荣幸的宣布将于2016年2月18日至3月19日展出北京艺术家蔡东东的综合材料装置个展《泉》 。

并非美院专业出身的艺术家蔡东东与摄影的第一次接触并不是在摄影棚里，而是在严厉的军队环境中。蔡东东在中学毕业后入伍 —— 通过一部军队交给他的相机和简单的使用说明，他很快成为了军队的摄影师。因此，蔡东东的第一组摄影对象是与他朝夕相处的战友们，至今这些让人记忆犹新的特色仍反复出现在蔡的作品之中。

《泉》展览中的作品拥有奇特的出离感。在这些照片雕塑作品内，蔡东东在银盐影像作品之上安置了突出的物品，例如水龙头或箭；从而通过对这些形体的解构来讲述艺术家对于黑白的过去以及中国静止图像的回忆。展览中的照片部分来自于蔡东东的个人的档案，部分来自于他搜集来的老式银盐底片，蔡的特殊的背景让他能够接触到这些珍贵的照片。虽然蔡东东的作品中并没有杜尚的小便池，但展览的标题却是直接来自于杜尚对工业时代的客体化的嘲弄， 其中田园式的水龙头和象征战斗性的箭也苛刻地讽刺了物体和物体客观化之间的区分。明确而言，蔡作品结构的本身结合了传统摄影以及现代化的建构。

通过强调这些材料的形象特性，蔡东东对于模仿的模仿远远超越了达达派对我们平时审视物品和艺术态度的讽刺。与其而言，蔡东东利用他曾经作为军队摄影师时所得到的经验而强调出了图像的力量。

蔡东东于1978年出生在甘肃天水。近期的博物馆联展包括，德国埃森福克旺美术馆“CHINA 8”（2015）；北京三影堂摄影艺术中心“中国摄影：二十世纪以来”（2015）；中央美术学院美术馆“陌生的亚洲：第二届北京国际摄影双年展”（2015）；北京三影堂摄影艺术中心“第二届三影堂实验影像开放展”（2015）；美国俄亥俄州立大学城市艺术中心“向左拉动：不保持一贯的正确”；美国明尼苏达州圣彼得市Hillstrom美术馆；德国柏林中国文化中心“不受拘束”（2013－2014）。
